-Going Out To Eat Pizza.

-Make homemade ice cream from scratch in your kitchen with the kids.

-Bake two batches of cookies or brownies, and take one batch to a family in need. This is a great way to show your kids how to be kind and compassionate, as well as an illustration of selflessness. The other batch of sweets can be their reward.

-Look through your old pictures and photo albums to reminisce on all of the fun times spent together.

-Teach your kids how to participate in one of your favorite hobbies, perhaps fishing or golfing.

-Play a family friendly board game, such as Monopoly or Shoots and Ladders.

-Work on completing a puzzle with the entire family. This will build teamwork and communication within the group.

-Read a book out loud that applies to both children and adults. “The Chronicles of Narnia” is a great choice for such an activity.

-Go to the zoo and explain to your kids which animal is your favorite and why. Ask them what their favorite animal is and why.

-Do the traditional activity of putting popcorn on a string and lining your trees in order to feed the birds a treat.

-Write a song with your family.

-Listen to a children’s version of a Bible story on tape. Act it out with your kids.

Its a dish that almost everyone loves, and it comes from Italy: Pizza is a dish that originates in Neapolitan cuisine. A place that makes and sells Pizza’s are called pizzerias, but in other places it can be called pizza parlour, pizza place, pizza house, pizza restaurant and pizza shop. The word ‘pizza’ is actually a mispronunciation of the word ‘pita’ – a type of bread that is predominantly eaten in the middle east and is used in a lot of Mediterranean cuisines – but the name has stuck all these years. This is a dish that you will see enjoyed at many villas in Italy.

Pizza was inspired by two dishes in the past. The Ancient Greeks covered their bread with oils, herbs and cheese, while the Romans created ‘placenta’, a sheet of flour with cheese, honey and flavoured bay leaves. The modern pizza we know originated in Italy and was called the ‘Neapolitan Pie’ with tomato, and then in 1889 cheese was added to the dish to create the pizza we know today.

The Purists of Naples only see two true types of pizzas today: the Marinara and the Margherita, and those two are the two most preferred by many Italians. Marinara is the older out of the two, and is topped with tomato, oregano, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

The name Marinara derives from the fact it was prepared by a fisherman’s wife for her sea faring husband when he returned from his fishing trips in the bays of Naples, which is why there is a misconception that bit is a seafood pizza. The Margarita is a pizza topped covered with tomato sauce and topped with cheese and fresh basil. The pizza credited to the baker Raffaele Esposito, who worked at the pizzeria ‘Pietro…e basta cosi’, a restaurant that is still operating under the name ‘Pizzeria Brandi’ and has been established since 1880. In 1889 he baked three different pizzas for the visit of King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Savoy. The Queen said that her favourite pizza was one that had colours of the Italian flag green from the basil leaves, white from the mozzarella and red from the tomatoes, and so this combination was named ‘Margherita’ in her honour.

There are various types of Pizza that comes from the different cities of Italy. The Neapolitan pizza like any typical pizza made with Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes, that are made from some the finest ingredients such as San Marzano tomatoes that grow on the nearby volcanic plains of Mount Vesuvius and Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, a mozzarella that is made from milk from water buffalo raised in the marshlands of Campania and Lazio in a semi-wild state, this mozzarella is protected with its own European protected designation of origin.

The Lazio style which is one seen in many other parts of Italy is available in two styles. The first one is cooked in long, rectangular baking pans and have a thick crust that is similar to an English muffin, this is usually cooked in an electric oven and sold by weight in Take away shops. The second style is usually served in restaurants, these are served in the traditional round shape, has a thin and crispy base. It is usually cooked inn a wood fired oven which gives it a unique taste and texture.

Around the world there are more different variations of Pizza’s such as the deep dish Chicago pizza’s. This shows how something that came from a relatively small community boomed into a worldwide favourite.

Some people think that when it comes to pizza it is the sauce or the toppings that make it right, but others will say it is the dough. Amazingly, there are many types of pizza dough. A pizza dough recipe would have to be multiplied many times over to cover the variations that have been made, many of which you will find in various pizza dough recipes.

Does Dough Make The Pizza?

Thin crust pizza dough usually is made of a different type of flour and has more flour in it so it can hold the thin crust together and give it the strength to hold the toppings. One of the biggest benefits of thin crust is it is easier to handle. If you are going to be eating it while driving or walking, you will find it easy to fold, holding the toppings towards the center so you can eat while you travel. The best types of thin crust pizza are cheese, fruit, breakfast, and vegetable pizza, because the weight does not break down the crust and the flavor of the crust does not overwhelm the flavor of the ingredients.

Another familiar type of pizza dough is found in thick crust pizza. It has less flour than thin crust, rises better, and actually gets fluffier while it rises. Thick crust pizza dough is designed to hold that hearty deep dish meal that just fills the air with the incredible fragrance of lots of good stuff being baked in a pizza. You can find a thick crust pizza at nearly any pizza house in the country, but why look when you can create your own just the way you like it at home? Browse through different recipes and see the many different ways that you can make crust with or without yeast.

Way To Go Pizza Dough Recipe

Thin crust pizza dough is the standard for New York style pizza. The thin chewy crust is flavored by the fresh mozzarella cheese on top, which has quite a bit of butter fat that is released during the baking. The sauce is relatively basic, more like tomato sauce, and the topping can be limited to mozzarella cheese. Since mozzarella has a rather mild flavor, the pizza is a package flavor, with crust, sauce, and cheese melding into a delightful, filling slice of pizza that can be folded so it is easier to eat and enjoy.

There is a rumor that the minerals in New York City’s hard water have something to do with the delicious flavor of the crust, and that some out-of-state pizza parlors have water brought in from New York City so that the dough is authentic. How valid is this claim? Since we know that minerals in the water can influence the taste of coffee, it is certainly possible that the water may affect the pizza dough taste slightly, and that means that dozens of different flavors may result from this recipe. No fear, though, because pizza is always a hit with the crowd and as long as you follow the recipe for this tasty crust, it will be a success.

A lot of authentic pizza recipes have basic foundations that have been changed as chefs work on new tastes and selections. If you enjoy a variety of foods and flavors, you might like to see other quick and easy pizza dough recipe and make them to complement the fresh produce and other quality ingredients that make up your pizza with amazing results.

The biggest pizza ever made was baked in Norwood, South Africa in 1990. It was a massive 100 feet across.

The word pizza was originally spelt as “pitsa” Americans eat billions of slices of pizza every year; in fact the annual per capita pizza consumption is 23 pounds!

Saturday night is traditionally the biggest night of the week for eating pizza.

America’s favourite pizza topping is pepperoni.

America’s least favourite pizza topping is anchovies.

Americans eat 90 to 100 acres of pizza per day.

During TV news broadcasts, most pizza is ordered during the weather forecast, and the delivery folks report that women, perhaps not surprisingly, are better tippers!

Post Columbus tomatoes were brought back to Europe from the New World in the 16th century. Originally they were thought by many to be poisonous, but later became accepted and added to pizza and bread in Italy.

In the 16th century, Maria Carolina, the Queen of Naples eventually convinced her husband, King Ferdinand IV, to allow the peasant dish pizza to actually be made in the royal oven.

In 1889 Raffaele Esposito, the most famous pizza chef created a pizza pie for Queen Margherita – tomato, basil and cheese, to resemble the Italian flag, which remains the basis for American pizza and many pizzerias serve it as a margherita pizza.

In 1905 the 1st American Pizzeria opened in New York City at 53 1/2 Spring St.

In 1945, soldiers returning from WWII brought with them a taste for certain foods, and as their rations were dull when fighting in Italy pizza was at the top of their list.

Outside of Italy, Argentina may well be the second best place for Italian food, especially pizza. Over sixty per cent of Buenos Aires’ residents are of Italian descent, which is evidenced by the massive number of pizzerias lining the city’s beautiful streets. But America may be a close second or third also.

The people of America eat around 350 slices of pizza each second, or 90 to 100 acres per day. Each year, the pizza market is a $30 billion industry.

In the U.S. alone there are about 61,269 pizza parlours.

Everyone in the United States eats about 23 lbs., or 46 slices, every year. That’s a lot of pizza!

Each year in the United States, over 3 billion pizzas are sold.

The most popular ethnic food in the US today is Italian.

Children aged 3 to 11 prefer pizza over all other foods for lunch and dinner, that’s according to a recent Gallup Poll.

Thirty six percent of all pizza orders want their pizza topping to be pepperoni, far and away the most popular pizza topping! We consume around 251,770,000 pounds of pepperonis every year.

County Line Pizza and Sidewalk Café announces that the 1st and 15th of every month is Military Appreciation Day. County Line wants to extend their appreciation to all of the military and want to help out those who live in or are visiting the Fort Walton Beach / Mary Esther area. Known for their daily specials and Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, County Line want to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all of our military service personnel.

“We have had a long history of appreciation for the military and their sacrifices,” says the Owner, of County Line Pizza. “We realize that it is a trying economy, so we wanted to do something to would not only help the pocketbooks of our local military, but show our thanks for everything they have done. So, twice a month we give all Active Duty and Retired Military and Their Dependents 20% off their bill.”

Three local Veterans of Foreign Wars posts honored Greg White and his establishment(County Line Pizza & Pub) with a POW/MIA table on May 28, the only memorial of its kind that exists in a civilian institution.

“Not only do we provide Our Military Appreciation Day on the 1st and the 15th with the 20% Discount, but we provide a 10% Discount everyday for Active Duty and Retired Military and Their Dependents,” recounts the Owner.

The County Line Pizza and Sidewalk Café is not your typical pizzeria. Along with their 14 HD TV’s to watch the NFL Sunday Ticket, and their Full Bar, they have a number of other authentic items like Bratwurst, Italian Sausage, Chicago Dogs, Panini, Reuben’s and Philly Cheesesteaks. County Line has a tradition of treating customers like family, offering daily specials, and online coupons year round.
